Jhong Hilario: From Streetboys to Showtime, A Versatile Journey in Entertainment and Politics


 Virgilio Viernes Hilario Jr., professionally known as Jhong Hilario, was born on August 11, 1976, in Asingan, Pangasinan. He is a versatile Filipino figure, serving as an actor, dancer, television host, and politician. Jhong is a member of the renowned Filipino dance group Streetboys and has been a councilor representing the 1st district of Makati since 2016.

Known for his compelling antagonist roles on television, Jhong Hilario portrayed characters such as Gary David in the 2010 remake of Mara Clara and Homer "Alakdan" Adlawan in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. Currently, he is a regular host on ABS-CBN's noontime variety show, It's Showtime.

In terms of his education, Jhong attended Bangkal Elementary School II in Makati for primary education and South Eastern College in Pasay for secondary education from 1991 to 1995. In 1996, he pursued a high school home study program under the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports. In 2023, Jhong Hilario graduated magna cum laude with a degree in political science from Arellano University.
