born on April 24, 1995, in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines, is the daughter of businessman, film producer, and former actor Frederick "Derek" Dee, and actress, author, former supermodel, and beauty queen Melanie Marquez, the titleholder of Miss International 1979.[7]

Her paternal grand-uncle, Dee C. Chuan, founded Chinabank in the Philippines, and her paternal grandmother, Regina Y. Dee, was an heiress and philanthropist, being the daughter of Yu Hung-chun, who served as the premier of Taiwan.[8][9] The former PBA player Joey Marquez is her maternal uncle, and her maternal cousin is Winwyn Marquez, an actress and fellow beauty queen who won Reina Hispanoamericana in 2017.[10]

Michelle Dee has one sister and four maternal half-siblings.[11] During her childhood, she spent significant time on their family ranch in Utah, United States, for summers and family vacations. Growing up, Dee developed a love for farm animals and cherished the countryside, whether in Utah or at her family's hacienda in Mabalacat, Pampanga, Philippines.[12]

She pursued her education at De La Salle University in Manila, earning a degree in psychology.[7] In 2021, Dee accomplished a certificate program in entrepreneurship essentials from the Harvard Business School.[13][14].
