Yeng Constantino: The Philosopher of Pop Rock Royalty

 

Josephine "Yeng" Eusebio Constantino, born on December 4, 1988, is a renowned Filipino singer, songwriter, and television personality, recognized as the Philippines Pop Rock Royalty. With a stellar career, she stands as one of the most influential figures in the Philippine music industry. In 2006, she clinched the title of "Grand Star Dreamer" in the inaugural season of Pinoy Dream Academy, the local version of Endemol's reality TV show Star Academy.

Constantino holds a distinguished position as one of the most critically acclaimed and top-selling Filipino artists. Over her career, she has amassed approximately 70 awards, including a FAMAS Award, 7 Awit Awards, 9 Myx Music Awards, and 5 PMPC Star Awards for Music, among others. In 2020, her music video "Ikaw" crossed the 100 million mark on YouTube, making it the second most-viewed OPM music video by a female artist in the Philippines. In 2023, Constantino inked a deal with Republic Records and was appointed the global ambassadress of the Academy of Rock, Singapore's premier music school dedicated to rock and popular music education.

Her debut album, "Salamat," released in January 2007 under Star Records, achieved commercial success, attaining triple Platinum status in the Philippines and spawning five #1 hits and six top 10 hits, a record for any female artist. Beyond music, she has also ventured into acting, earning the Best Supporting Actress Award in MMFF 2019 for her role in "Write About Love." As of May 2023, Constantino boasts over 350 million career streams on Spotify, solidifying her position as one of the most streamed Filipino artists in history.
